Introducing the Artists: The Naarm based rapper, producer and multidisciplinary artist began her career as a classical musician, initially experimenting with hip hop as a rebellion to the conservative and stifling environment she found herself in. Her rap alter-ego soon took over as her main creative pursuit after the success of her first single “Breakfast” in 2017.

Fresh Violet immersed herself in the Australian Hip Hop scene and quickly rose to prominence, releasing two EPs, a self-produced LP and completed seven national tours in three short years. After significant delays and hurdles, Fresh Violet is delighted to finally release her second LP Life of Vi The project is the distillation of a new level of maturity and skill for the artist. Her confidence, songwriting and storytelling have blossomed into a unique voice, blending alternative hip hop and electronic pop across 10 tracks of Violet-y bliss and badassery.

Niine, the idiosyncratic mini ball of quirky goodness, has been hitting the live music scene hard with her vibrant song writing since 2016. As the first avant-garde avalanche pop artist, Niine brings a new sound and elation to the music scene both in her recordings and live shows. Her abstract view of the world and secret punk attitude is delivering what the music scene has craved.

Electronic artist, Vessa, is a Naarm-born and based, Chilean-Mauritian musician and performer, whose emotive and experimental recordings have given the city a taste for her live hardware magic. With dreamy vocals and shimmery synths peppered throughout, she has been crafting a distinct and personal sound with dance floor synergy, using classic drum machine hits and house motifs, combined with a fresh and unexpected electronic music sensibility.

ERIS & THE DISCIPLES create a safe space welcoming all sexualities and diversities. Eris God presents as a masked character, hiding her true form from the projections of the world. Our enigmatic host will be joined by THE DISCIPLES, experts in burlesque, drag, chaos and spectacle. This troupe of truants will be entertaining you between musical acts and hosting games with shiny new Fresh Violet merch as prizes.

DJ Slime is the sound of a disenchanted culture thrown into a harsh world. Built from the foundations of a rich hip-hop history, emo sensibilities and the bipolar extremes of silk and an envious opulence. Slime takes their passionate experience playing in punk and death metal bands and transmutes it alongside rap (something they refer to as their ‘surrogate father’) into a raw and hard-to-pin sound.

Rubyanna Edwards (They/She) is an emerging inter-media artist, identifying with digital abstract expressionism. They seek to fill embedded digital spaces with intense line and colour, to which feeling pervades order. Working in the digital realm, Rubyanna brings meta forms of painting and drawing to life through disruptive moving image work.
